GRASSLAND IMPROVEMENT
Many fields are not easily ploughed out either due to high stocking rates or unsuitability of the land. However, improving existing pastures can show enormous benefits to forage production both in terms of quantity and quality.

Many of the more recent improvements have been helped with the use of spring-tine harrows, which open up the existing grassland allowing the introduction of more vigorous rygrasses or red or white clovers to enhance fertility and improve the protein content of the sward.
